My family of three generations had a wonderful time at Hamilton Island and on visits to Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef.
It was the house, Iluka, that contributed greatly to the magic of our too-short vacation and time together. The house is beautifully sited, carefully and sufficiently isolated, and positioned for views of the passage between Hamilton and Whitsunday Islands; and close enough to the Sunset Bar (with a steep climb) for views in most directions.
The house is wonderfully appointed; all that is needed is to add your own food and drinks, supplied at understandable cost by a variety of island and Airlie Beach caterers. The upstairs lounge, dining and undercover outdoor areas have views, comfort, space and furniture, and an area that allows ease of movement for six adults and five children. Beds in all five bedrooms are comfortable, and two main bedrooms are spacious. There are plenty of bathrooms for a crowd.
The accolades for Iluka come from the children. 'This is the best place for a holiday. Thanks, Grandad!" The infinity pool was used when the sun was warm enough, the cubby house had a few visits, and the trampoline was in constant use. The trampoline was as well-designed and as safe as it could be.
The little things that matter were epitomised by the provision of two buggies, coloured distinctively in orange. No troubles finding the Iluka buggies when parked among scores of white buggies!
Thankyou for the care taken in providing this magnificent house that shifts quickly into becoming a wonderful home. We had a memorable holiday together, and there is little doubt that the quality of Iluka contributed to those memories.

Perfect apartment on ground floor opened onto grass area, ideal for families. Next to lovely pool area. Beach a 2 minute walk across the road and down stairs. We walked to the marina each day which we enjoyed but had the use of a buggy when we were tired of an evening. Read More

We stayed with our two boys – aged 6 & 2 - at Lagoon Lodge 007 just 8 days after Cyclone Debbie. We were in two minds of traveling so soon after the cyclone as we didn't know what to expect. However, what the 1200 residents and staff had done was nothing short of a miracle - with most resort facilities, pools, shops and restaurants re-opened and back to normal. As for the apartment, being only 50m from Catseye beach and easy access to our favourite pool it was a perfect location us. The grass lawn in front of the apartment also provided that extra space for our boys to run around which was an added bonus. To top it off, the brand new buggy made getting around very enjoyable - whether it was a trip to the marina or afternoon tea/cocktail at One Tree Hill. Had one weeks stay here. The property is nicely decorated, spacious, modern and clean. Well stocked kitchen with nice appliances. We had two families so extra space was nice. Being ground floor the kids could play on grassed area safely. Great location. In between marina and Catseye Beach so you can walk everywhere in 5 mins, or drive buggy. Pool in this complex is good for small children but we preferred main pools down near beach and hotel. We would stay here again. Read More

The island is fantastic (minus a few leaves) and we are really enjoying our time in Hibiscus 108. It’s a great unit and we will definitely be back in this unit if its available.
The Hibiscus pool is crystal clear and a lot warmer than previous years probably due to the lack of shade cloth structure that use to cover most of the pool. Hope they took it down before Debbie hit?
All the restaurants we normally venture to are open except for the amazing Romano’s but rotating between Manta Ray, Sails and Pool Terrace is a great way to spend a few weeks.
Just thought we would let you know we are having an amazing holiday.

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, grandson and I arrived on a flight 1-hour late but the valet service was there waiting for us at the airport with a large enough van to hold all of us and luggage. One reason we chose Frangipani 8 was that it was ground floor, both at the front door and rear patio. They provided high chair, crib and car seat for our 1-year old. I can't think of anything we needed that wasn't there. (However, there were no paper towels and only 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom.) It was very clean except there was a scent of ant spray. (We had to keep all food in the fridge otherwise ants would gather. Same with patio. Don't leave dropped food on the patio.) The weather was hot and humid but the air conditioner worked very well. (Too well; my kids wanted it colder than I did, and it stayed almost cold inside.) The location was great, literally the last condo on the Catseye Beach side. View was great. You cannot walk straight across the road to the beach. But, it is still a short walk. You do have to walk further (or drive the included golf cart) down to the resort where the lounge chairs are. This condo is right next to a shaded pool, but far enough way that noise was never a problem. We also could not hear any noise from the unit next to us or above us. You could drive the golf cart to almost everywhere on the island in almost 5 minutes. It had a full size fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher. The living area and master bedroom had large glass doors out to the patio. The 2nd bedroom was plain but was fine for us. The 2nd bathroom was fine but did not have a vent for the air conditioner. There were kangaroos (or maybe wallabies, I don't know the difference) and cockatoos outside the patio every day. I would consider staying here again if we return.
